
Our GovernanceThe Center is governed by the Executive Committee of CMIS. Members of the Executive Committee are the CMIS Director, Chair of the Department of Surgery, and the Program Manager. This committee is responsible for the oversight and prioritization of teaching programs and research protocols, and implementation of the "business plan." The committee meets monthly. The manager is responsible for planning and implementing day-to-day operations of the Center. Ultimate authority and responsibility for actions in CMIS lie with the director.
The Chair of each of the following committees will submit a written report of its activities to the Director quarterly.
The Research Committee for CMIS consists of five faculty members of the Center. The committee chair is appointed by the CMIS director. The charge of the committee is to review grant proposals submitted to CMIS and to make funding recommendations to the Executive Committee.
The Education Committee for CMIS is charged with organizing and planning CME courses, resident labs, and video conferencing. The committee reviews and evaluates educational programs, and makes recommendations for improvements.
The Communications/Marketing/Publications Committee of the CMIS is charged with the following: Public relations activities relating to the Center; marketing of the Center programs; review of manuscripts and grant applications prior to submission to journals and outside agencies; review of CMIS Web site and recommendations for information placed on the site.
The charge of the Outcomes Committee is the development of outcomes protocols.
CMIS is comprised of Ohio State faculty who apply and are accepted as members. CMIS members are expected to support the mission of the Center through their participation in research and educational programs.
